Vision

Our basic vision is of community. Of La Raza Unida as a caring and responsible family.

Our Principles:

As a caring family we have the responsibility to act for our mutual benefit, and to develop the strength to carry this out. This extends to our future generations as well. This warmth is for us today and our future generations tomorrow. It is the warmth of human caring and affection.

When we care about each other, we want each other to be protected from harm. When we care about each other, we want each other's dreams to come true. When we care about each other, we want each other to be treated fairly.

We want everyone to have freedom from want. We want everyone to have freedom from fear. We want everyone to have freedom from oppression.

There is no fulfillment without freedom. There is no freedom without opportunity. There is no opportunity without prosperity.

Children, families, all of us are shaped by the communities we live in. Responsibility requires serving and helping to shape our communities. That requires that we develop a strong sense of cooperation.

In order to cooperate we need to develop trust in our communities. We develop that trust through honest and open communication. By working together we get further than working alone.
